check out this woman I just picked up . . .

This is a sculpture that used to belong to my grandmother - she must have bought it in the late 80s. I loved my grandmother's taste - she had peacock chairs, shag pile carpet in labrador, a pillow shaped like right angle. She liked doing ikebana, cooked a mean roast, listened to me talk - but I've always had a few question marks around this piece. I think it's just the seat, or maybe her 30s style? It just never quite gelled with me.
Anyway, I've been writing about my grandmother lately, finding photos of her in her 20s. I found her (the sculpture), unloved in a forgotten corner. So I took her home with me. I have a new appreciation for this lovely lady.
